Sahana

MY NEW FOUND PASSION:
My lack of knowledge in carnatic music is so overwhelming.Rather than learning all the swarams and raagas, ( which i know is an HIMALAYAN task), I am more inclined towards identifying ragas in film music. After several futile attempts at linking ragas ( carnatic songs ) to film songs, finally i was able to identify this particular raaga in film songs.That is SAHANA.

SAHANA:
This melodious raaga evokes mild morbidness and soothing and calmes the listener.Watch this masterpiece from UNNAL MUDIYUM THAMBI. ( The brother plays it in nadaswaram)

The other beautiful song in SAHANA raaga is from the serial "RAYIL SNEHAM" titled
"INTHA VEENAIKKU THERIYATHU".

Finally this will be beautifully handled by ARR in PARTHALE PARAVASAM. The main raaga is dwijavanthi ragam ( from someone wise) but the violin piece is definetly SAHANA.
